The Heroine's Path: Women's Storytelling and Empowerment Retreat UK

March 2027 (dates TBC)

Step into the world of ancient storytelling, Celtic wisdom and mythic imagination.

The Heroine’s Path is an immersive creative retreat for women ready to explore the stories they carry, the identities they inhabit, and the possibilities waiting to emerge. Through archetypal exploration, storytelling, ritual, expressive arts and embodied practice, you’ll journey with powerful feminine archetypes including the Authoress, Warrioress and Wild Woman — discovering new ways to reclaim your voice, creativity and sense of agency.

Drawing inspiration from ancient traditions including Celtic mythology, Viking storytelling and symbolic practices such as runes, alongside contemporary somatic and nervous-system-informed approaches, this retreat invites you to become the author of your own next chapter.

This is not about becoming someone new. It is about remembering the stories, strengths and creative wisdom that have always lived within you.

A 3-day immersive journey of creativity, embodiment and transformation, followed by 6 months of somatic and creative practice and community support

Your journey with Wanderess does not end when you leave the retreat. Every Wanderess pathway includes six months of continued integration through the Wanderess Circle — a supportive space for reflection, somatic practice, creative exploration and community connection.

Because meaningful transformation takes time. A retreat can create powerful moments of insight and possibility, but lasting change happens through gentle integration, repetition and embodiment in everyday life.

Throughout your six-month journey, you’ll continue to explore the practices, insights and discoveries from retreat with ongoing group support, guided reflection and tools based in the Heroine’s Journey to help you bring your transformation home.

Who is the Heroine?

Every woman carries stories. The stories we inherit. The roles we are given. The identities we learn to perform in order to belong.

The Heroine archetype represents the moment we begin to question those stories and ask: What if I could choose what comes next?

The Heroine’s Path is a creative transformation retreat for women ready to reclaim their voice, reconnect with their imagination, and become the authors of their own lives.

Through storytelling, archetypal exploration, expressive arts and embodied practice, you’ll explore the narratives that have shaped you — and discover new possibilities for who you are becoming.

Drawing inspiration from Celtic and Norse mythology, warrior queens, storytellers, goddesses and legendary women throughout history, this retreat invites you into the ancient human practice of transformation through story.

Because stories do not just describe who we are. They shape who we become.

This Isn’t Just a Retreat. It’s a Rewrite.

Here, you don’t simply tell your story.

You embody it.

You explore it through your voice, your body, your imagination and your creativity.

Through Somatic Mythwork™, you’ll discover how identity is not fixed, but something we continually create, express and transform.

This is an invitation to step beyond inherited scripts of shrinking, silence or self-doubt — and into a more authentic, courageous and creatively alive way of being.

This Retreat is For You If You’re Ready To:

🌹 Reconnect with your creative voice and the stories waiting to be expressed.

🌹 Explore mythology, archetypes and storytelling as pathways for self-discovery.

🌹 Move beyond old narratives and step into a more empowered relationship with yourself.

🌹 Build confidence in your voice, presence and ability to take up space.

🌹 Explore embodied practices that support emotional resilience and nervous system awareness.

🌹 Connect with a community of curious, creative women who are also writing their next chapter.

Why is this Retreat Different?

The Heroine’s Path goes beyond traditional wellness retreats by bringing together the ancient practices of storytelling, ritual and mythology with contemporary understanding of embodiment, nervous system awareness and creative practice.

Through Somatic Mythwork™, you’ll explore how identity is shaped through the stories we inherit, the roles we inhabit and the possibilities we imagine. Using archetypes, expressive arts, performance techniques and embodied exploration, you’ll begin to rewrite the narratives that no longer fit — and step into a more authentic expression of who you are becoming.

Unlike retreats that end when you return home, The Heroine’s Path continues through six months of guided integration within the Wanderess Circle. Through ongoing somatic practice, creative exploration, reflection and community support, you’ll have the space to embody the insights and discoveries from retreat — allowing transformation to become part of everyday life.

Working With Archetypes & Mythwork

Developed by archetype and performance specialist Dr. Ellie Chadwick (PhD), Wanderess retreats use her approach Somatic Mythworkwhich draws from cutting-edge research in embodiment, trauma theory (including Polyvagal-informed practice), and performance studies to help women heal past trauma, shed limiting beliefs and step into the full authorship of their lives. This retreat explores the performative nature of identity: how we live the stories we’ve inherited, and how we can rewrite them through the body.

Together, we will deconstruct the lingering impact of the Damsel in Distress/Victim archetype and reclaim the powerful energies of the Heroine, drawing on Celtic and Norse mythology, folklore, and feminine wisdom traditions. Through exploring mythic figures such as Brigid (Celtic goddess of healing, fire, and poetry) and Freya (Norse goddess of love, war, and sovereignty), we’ll uncover inner resilience, agency, and voice.

We use somatic tools, performance methodologies, meditative practice and archetypal mapping to access your strength, disrupt internalised narratives of powerlessness, and root into your lived, expressive power.

We will explore and embody:

  • The Heroine/Authoress, who writes her own story from a place of clarity and courage.

  • The Rebeless, who dares to dismantle inherited systems and speak truth.

  • The Warrioress, who acts with grounded strength.

  • The Huntress/Wild Woman, who leads with instinct, freedom, and fierce authenticity.

  • The Enchantress, who brings allure, creativity, and transformation.

Through immersive storytelling, ritual theatre, and body-based practices, you’ll move from passive roles into empowered authorship. You’ll learn how to regulate your nervous system, hold space for emotional complexity, and embody your truth with creative confidence.
